Class Gift
We’re inviting our class to show our pride in a meaningful way this year. Our 15th Reunion is the time for our class to pay forward the gift of our Punahou education and support the next generation of Punahou students through our class gift.
During our 10th Reunion, a record-breaking 34% of our class donated to our class gift — more than any other 10th Reunion class!
This year, we’re challenging our class to achieve 40% participation and raise $50,000.
Punahou has given so much to each of us in many ways — through financial aid, the value of a world-class education and unparalleled alumni network, and the innovations that will always be unique to our class, such as being the first where each student had a laptop, and the first to spend grades 6-8 in Case Middle School.
Our class gift is our legacy that will make a difference for today and tomorrow’s Punahou students.
Make a one-time gift
Any donation you make during our reunion year counts toward our class gift. You can designate it to any specific purpose or just to the Punahou Fund, which goes to the school’s highest priorities.
Make a recurring gift or pledge
Special opportunity!
It’s only during our reunion year — now through June 2026 — that your donation will go further. If you make a recurring gift or a pledge, the entire value of your donation over five years, from now until the next reunion, will be counted toward our class gift.
So a $20.11 monthly donation could be valued at over $1,000 for our class gift, or a $500 annual pledge would be recognized as $2,500.
See if your company will match your gift
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. This is a great way for your donation to go further — any corporate matches will also count toward our class gift! Click here to see if your company matches donations.
Donate stocks or other appreciated securities
Punahou accepts gifts of stocks, securities, cryptocurrency, and many other tax-smart gifts. If you’re considering this option, know that Punahou makes it easy to donate. Reach out to our 15th Reunion Committee to hear about their experience, or click here to learn more from Punahou.

What’s the difference between a “pledge” and a “recurring” gift?
Both a “pledge” and a “recurring” gift involve multiple donations over time. Both a pledge and a recurring gift can be set up on a monthly, quarterly, or annual schedule.
The entire value of a pledge or a recurring gift, between the day that you set it up and our next reunion, will count toward our 15th Reunion gift.
- With a pledge, you choose the total number of donations that you want to make.
- A recurring donation will continue indefinitely until you tell Punahou that you want to end it.
What’s the difference between the “Punahou Fund,” our “Alumni Class Fund” (the 2011 Legacy Fund), and the other options?
Wherever you choose to direct your donation, it will count toward our class reunion gift. Any donation during our reunion year, including recurring gifts and pledges, counts towards our class gift.
- The Punahou Fund is for the school’s most urgent needs.
- The Alumni Class Fund — the 2011 Legacy Fund — is our class’s enduring contribution to the school. Punahou will only use the interest derived from the 2011 Legacy Fund, so any donations you make will remain as a permanent endowment.
- You can also choose to direct your donation to financial aid (the PunsUnited fund), to the construction of the Mary Kawena Pukui Learning Commons (the new Academy “library”), or to another endowed fund at the school.
Does my donation actually make a difference for Punahou?
Yes! Tuition and other income only covers 86% of Punahou’s annual expenses, and new construction projects — like the new Academy library, the Mary Kawena Pukui Learning Commons — are 100% funded by donations.
Alumni giving allows Punahou to continue to offer a unique student experience. Without it, Punahou would not be the school it is today.
